3 Things No One Should Wear. Ever.

OK ladies. Let's be honest. Do you have something embarassing in your closet? A piece of clothing that drives your friends nuts or looks terrible on you?(Which is a shame, because you're so beautiful.)
Here's the deal, I want to save you a lifetime of ridicule. So here's a list of things that you should never wear. Ever.

1. Uggs in the summer
Ugg boots started out as anti-fashion. After all, they have flat soles, no shape and a rather bland design. Australian pilots used to wear these boots, made with sheepskin and shearling, to keep their feet warm and insulated. Some people say their name actually comes from people calling them "ugly boots." Uggs had a bit of popularity in the 1970s with California surfers, who liked the way the shoes kept their feet warm after surfing in cold water. But Uggs hit the big time when Oprah Winfrey gave them away on her TV show in the early 2000s.
While there's certainly nothing wrong with the Ugg boot or wanting to keep your feet warm, it's just a bit strange when you see people wearing them in 90 degree heat with a sundress- or short-shorts. It's has to be hot inside those boots! And no one likes sweaty feet. Put the Uggs in the closet, get a nice pedicure, and slip on some comfy gladiator sandals.
2. Leggings as pants
There's nothing wrong with leggings as pants per se. But let's get one thing straight: Leggings are not pants. I repeat: Not pants. If you're wearing leggings, no one should be able to see your bunsies. Not when you're standing up straight, or bending down.
Leggings are meant to be worn with a skirt or dress to make sure your bum and legs are covered. And I don't mean an oversized sweatshirt or T-shirt, unless you're painting a room. To make things look nice, wear leggings with a tunic-style shirt, or a dress with boots.
3. Very Low-Rise Jeans
As long as they don't ride too low on your hips, low rise jeans can be quite flattering on certain body-types.
But before you buy these jeans, check yourself in a three-way mirror to see how much skin and/or underwear is showing around back. If your cotton briefs, pink thong or your, shall we say, coin slot, are in full view, these aren't the jeans for you.
Also, jeans with a super-low rise tend to create a situation known as "muffin top." When you're wearing jeans and your waist looks less like an hourglass and more like a blueberry muffin, your jeans are too low and too tight. Just go up a size and you'll be perfect.

And those are three things that I hope you never wear. Ever.

Love It or Leave It: Coachella Accessories

One thing's for sure: celebs love Coachella! Katy Perry and Vanessa Hudgens were dancing their hearts out the first weekend of the music festival, not to mention rocking some fest fashion!

Floral headbands, especially ones woven from real flowers, pay homage to the era of Woodstock, and both ladies were sporting their own natural tiaras. Vanessa's signature beach waves were topped off with a crown of rose buds. It was the perfect finishing touch to super-charge her flower-child hippie look! But remember not to show too much skin, as Vanessa just showed us a little too much.  Katy Perry coordinated her own violet locks with a pastel hairpiece, and kept a girlier vibe with a cute printed sheer dress. Also remember to make your outfit fun and colourful, like Katy did with her bracelets and headpiece.
What do you think- super-hip hair accessory or cliché costume piece?

Fashion Rules

Believe it or not, there are rules when it comes to fashion, they are simple and easy to follow. Here are a few of them:
-When in doubt, choose black. Black is always in style and is slimming in the right fit. Add a pop of colour in your outfit, though. You don't want to look like you're going to a funeral.
- Always match, it's painful for other people to look at you or your outfit when all of your colours clash.
-Dress up when you go to school or work, people take you more seriously.
And lastly,
-Follow the dress code, don't wear short shorts if you are supposed to wear knee-length bottoms (same with skirts).
-Don't wear too many patterns or bright colours at once, it's painful for the eyes to take in. Instead, have one main bright or busy piece of your outfit that will make your outfit pop.
There are five simple and easy rules for you to follow so your outfits stay fun and fashion friendly.

Fashion Quote of the Day!

"The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you've got to have a good spirit on the inside. That's what's going to make you look like you're ready to rock the world."

Three Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2012!

Rejoice! Warmer weather, and summer break, is right around the corner! Which means it’s almost time to pull out your favourite shorts, tanks and sandals. For those wanting to update their wardrobe with a few stylish new pieces for the season, 2012 is serving up plenty of Spring and Summer-friendly trends, from neon, to chunky heels!

Neon
The go-to color palette for Spring/Summer ‘12 is neon -- especially shades of neon yellow and coral. Neon skinnies or capris are a must-have for cooler weather, but for those only wanting to add a splash of this eye catching trend to each outfit, neon colored tennis shoes are a fun and trend-forward way to do it. When wearing such bright, bold colors, keep it simple with clean lines and solid colors. A pair of neon green jeans look great with nude flats, and a neon pink top color blocked with camel is the perfect compliment.

                              Chunky Platform Heels
There’s no footwear trend more fun than chunky platform heels. These strappy  Mary Jane-style sandals come in many bold colours and girlish prints, making them almost too much fun to play with in your wardrobe. The best part is that the high platform makes them more comfortable to wear than regular heels, without sacrificing height. Make an everyday jeans and t-shirt outfit pop with a pair of chunky red suede platform wedges, or dress up your favourite sun dress with a wooden heeled floral print pair.

 Flyaway Floral Cardigans
Perfect for transition weather and colder climates, flyaway floral cardigans are as cute as they are comfy. These boxy cropped jackets are always cut in an open cardigan style, generally have short or three-quarter length sleeves, and are almost always made in a light, sheer fabric that’s perfect for Spring. They surprisingly look great in traditionally fall colors like navy blue, brown or cream, and match well with a cami,  jeggings and boots.

Top Teen Brands!

Keep in mind that the following popular brands are not designer brands. These are more affordable brands that we will be discussing. These brands are not meant for everybody though. So choose your brands according to your body shape.

The Popular Brands for Teens are:

  • Hollister
  • Abercrombie and Fitch
  •  Bench
While these three brands are a little bit more money, if you are a small, straight girl you can pull off these brands and look super hot! While some Bench Clothes are more expensive, for the majority you can get a nice graphic tee for a small sum of money.

  • American Eagle
We personally LOVE this store! The jeans there look fabulous on girls of any shape or size. One thing for you to keep in mind is that if you are a little bit bigger, you should wear a higher rise straight leg or trouser leg pair of jeans. As this will elongate you and slim out your figure.
  • Garage
Garage has some really great clothes that for the majority look nice on real people! But the downside is that their clothes can shrink very easily in the wash.
  • Pink
While Pink seems to have great bottoms (yoga pants and super short shorts). They are not necessarily right for your body type. Many people don't realize that yoga pants may show certain parts of your body that you do not wish to be seen. This could be resulted from too small pants or yoga shorts. Also these Super Short Shorts may show off a bit of your buns. If you have this happen to  you they are not meant for your body type.

  • H&M
  • Aeropostale
  • Forever 21
Our Favourite store is Forever 21. We love this store because it has more affordable prices and the clothes are so cute and up to date on the fashion world. Also with these three brands above, They carry bigger sizes but the clothes are both cute and affordable and they look good on the majority of body types.

These are some of our favourite brands, and we hope you like them also. Some other brands that we did not include that are exteremly affordable are:

  • Billa Bong
  • Bluenotes
  • Volcom
  • Ardene
  • Old Navy
We hope you will value our advice and pay attention to it so that you know what's best for your body type.

Spring 2012 Fashion For Teens

The Perfect Spring Outfit!
To create the perfect outfit,  from head to toe:
- Colourful scarf
Generally a scarf with pink, orange, blues, greens, and yellows. With a flowery or swirly design.
- White top
3 quarter length sleeve, with some sort of white design, try to stay away from flowers because you have a flowery scarf.
- Coloured Jeans
Jeans with one of the colours of your scarf. Some colours that are in right now are red, green, pink, bright blue, white, and purple.
- If going out, wear a platform heel. Roll your jeans up a little bit, to show off your awesome legs!
If going to school wear a sensible but fashionable sneaker, with a simple design, I suggest 'Bobs' by Sketchers, or 'Toms'. Wear simply designed shoes so that your scarf and jeans are the main focus of your outfit.
